Lodge on Ilona is loved for its peace and quiet, and these terms help us keep it that way for every guest. Please take a moment to read them before you arrive.
We are a tranquil country retreat, not a party venue. Please ensure everyone in your group is aware of these rules, as the guest who made the booking is responsible for any transgressions.
Reservations & Payment
All bookings are confirmed upon receipt of a confirmation email, and payment is required at the time of booking. Rates are subject to availability and applicable taxes.
At check-in, the guest whose name appears on the booking must present a valid ID or passport, along with the same credit card used to make the online payment. Only the number of guests listed on your confirmed booking may enter and stay overnight on the premises..
Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in: between 14:00 and 18:00, unless otherwise pre-arranged with management.
Check-out: strictly by 10:00. Late check-out is available at R100 per hour and must be arranged with management in advance.
Guests arriving in the early hours of the morning are charged the full nightly rate and still check out at 10:00.
Breakage Deposit
A refundable damage and breakage deposit of R750 per unit is payable at check-in. This deposit is refunded within 24 hours of check-out, less any breakage or damage charges. Proof will be provided for any deductions where applicable.
On arrival and departure, guests are asked to take inventory of the contents of their room. You are solely responsible for these contents, and any missing or broken items will be charged against the breakage deposit.
Cancellation Policy
Free cancellation is available up to 48 hours before arrival. Cancellations made within 48 hours of arrival, or no-shows, will be charged one night's accommodation. Non-refundable rates are not eligible for cancellation.
Additional Guests & Visitors
Additional guests over the age of 2 are charged at R350 per person, per night, settled at check-in.
No day visitors are permitted on the premises.
Pool, Trampoline & Play Area
Lodge on Ilona and its management take no responsibility for any injury or drowning arising from the use of our facilities. These facilities are used entirely at your own risk.
The pool area is open from 09:00 and closes strictly at 21:00.
Children under 13 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult when using the pool, trampoline or play area.
The play area is for children under 13 only.
Only one person is permitted on the trampoline at a time.
No alcohol or glass is permitted in the pool area.
No boom boxes or music of any kind are allowed in these areas.
Lapa & Stoep (Communal Braai Area)
The Lapa and Stoep is a shared area with indoor and outdoor braai facilities, dining tables, a fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, and cutlery and crockery.
The area may be pre-booked, subject to availability, from 16:00 to 22:00. A R150 cleaning fee applies.
Wood and charcoal are available at R60 per bag, and ice at R25 per bag.
Pool cue sticks and darts are available against a refundable R50 deposit.
Guest Responsibilities
Please follow the following guest rules and conduct:
Please be considerate of other guests. No loud noise is permitted at any time.
There is strictly no smoking, drinking (other than water) or eating in the rooms. Designated smoking areas are provided outside.
No photographs or video recordings of any person may be taken without their permission.
No drugs or drug dealing are permitted on the premises.
No firearms are permitted on the premises.
Please do not flush food or any foreign objects, including sanitaryware, down drains or toilets.
Please leave the premises as you found it, with all equipment accounted for and in working order, and linen unstained and untorn.
Guests are held responsible for the financial cost of any damage to the property, whether wilful or accidental.
In extreme cases, management reserves the right to ask guests to leave the property without a refund if these rules are not observed.
Liability
Management does not accept responsibility for any loss of or damage to guests' personal belongings. We recommend keeping valuables secure during your stay. For safety and security, please note that CCTV cameras operate in all communal areas.
Privacy
Your personal information is collected and used only to manage your booking and stay, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, including South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
